Those Poodle Skirt Days

Poodle Skirt
Karleigh Sue

Here we go back to the 50s today! Did you own a poodle skirt back n the day? I didn't then, but I have three now! I've worn them as costumes for special events here in Florida.

Poodle Skirt was designed by Karleigh Sue, our current sponsor at Artistic Inspirations. The image was adorable and brought back recent memories, so that I just had to pick her for my design team card.

Poodle Skirt is standing in the inside of Georgie's Diner in St. Augustine, Florida. This is a color sketch background by my husband Sandy. Poodle Skirt was colored using Polychromos Pencils by Faber-Castell. The image and background were merged in the Craft Artist 2 program.

My second card uses the same image, but I combined it with various graphic elements in the Craft Artist 2 program.

Santa and Audrey

Santa and Audrey
The Stamping Boutique

Summer Laundry Line
Well, I know it's early (like 4 months early), but Audrey just had to sit on Santa's lap. Knowing there is a Christmas shop on St. George Street, in St. Augustine, Florida, we made the trip. But it's August, what was Audrey thinking when she decided to wear those heavy clothes?

Santa and Audrey is a lovely digital image designed by The Stamping Boutique, our current sponsor at Crafting from the Heart.

Santa and Audrey were colored in Prismacolor Pencils and blender marker. I used the Craft Artist 2 program to merge that image with bits and pieces from the My Craft Studio, Setting the Scene Store Fronts program. Following printing the merged image, I used a few metallic Gelly Roll pens to put some glitz on the composition.

Now the second card is more like where I live, minus the cabanas, but a crafter can dream...right! The Summer Laundry Line is also a digital stamp by The Stamping Boutique and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and then merged with assorted pieces from digikits in the Craft Artist 2 program.

I hope you enjoyed Audrey's visit with Santa and the cabanas on the beach and decided to join the challenge over at Crafting from the Heart. This is an anything goes challenge. Sponsor The Stamping Boutique.

Daisy Elf Shadow Box

Daisy Elf was a free digital image offered by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff for Stamps by Aurora Wings. I printed the image on watercolor paper and colored first with Prismacolor Pencils and then followed with Inktense Pencils and water. I enlarged the colored image and printed it twice. First I cut the whole image out and then just Daisy Elf. I added small soft pads for the 3D effect between the 2 images. I used those soft pads to mount the 3D image to the top of a pretty 8x10" floral print. The picture is mounted in an 8x10" shadow box frame.
I am submitting this dimensional shadow box picture for the Aurora Wings Showcase.

Pink Christmas

Pink Christmas

DeeDee's Digis

It's really fun to play with Christmas images. Living in Florida gives me the opportunity to use some not so traditional ones too!

Don't you love the pink flamingos and the palm trees of the 50s?

DeeDee's Digis is the current sponsor at Simply Papercraft. Their Pink Christmas was the choice I made for my design team card. When I saw their adorable little flamingo along with a lit up palm tree, that was it. The set includes a number of elements including 2 images in color and 3 sentiments.

I used the 2 colored images to merge into  scene I crafted from various digikit in the Craft Artist 2 program.

Come and share your talents with us at Simply Papercraft, where anything goes.

Are You on Santa's List?

Santa's List
QKR Stampede
Yes, I know it's no longer Xmas in July and it's along way till the holiday season. I couldn't help my self, when I saw Santa's List by QKR Stampede. I chose this vintage looking image for my design team card for the challenge at Crafting from the Heart, sponsored by QKR Stampede. I love to design Christmas card year round, they're fun and I will have some wonderful cards, when I need them.

I colored the image in Prismacolor Pencils, scanned it and printed it. I cut the print out and elevated it with small dimensionals (to give some depth) on top of a printed paper based card.

For the second card, I put it in the Craft Arist 2 program and merged it with a room design from the My Craft Studio program. After printing and adhering it to a base card, I went over the Christmas balls with a Red Star Gelly Roll pen.

I hope my cards will inspire you to join our challenge at Crafting from the Heart and share your talent with us. Sponsored by QKR Stampede.

A Walk in My Garden

Diddybag
This is my very first card made with a digi from Diddybag, the current sponsor here at Artistic Inspiration. I used one of the 6 images included in the set of My Favorite Princess #13160. The images in this set are pre-colored. I merged the princess with a castle and background from the Paper Wonderland digikit and flowers from a few other digikits in the Craft Artist 2 program.

The My Favorite Princess set is great for cards and printables. It's clipart that can be digitized for machine embroidery.

Diddybag has affordable digital images ad many sets of clipart start at only $.99 a set.

I hope my card has inspired you to join our challenge at Artistic Inspiration, sponsored by Diddybag.

The Last Time I Saw Paris

I was in Paris as a newlywed, the fall of 1971. My husband had just completed a job for Pan Am Airways and we had arranged to meet at Orly Airport. Can you imagine all the wonderful sights to see? Just to name a few: Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Sacre-Coeur in Montmarte.

When I found "God is First," I knew it was one that would bring back some really nice memories! It's this month's inspirational card for Cute as a Button Stamps.

Here are some old photos to prove it:
