A Canvas Birthday Card

Since working for Michaels I have found a new love! Back-stapled artist canvases are just so cool! You don't need to just paint on these three dimensional surfaces, glue designs of all types.
I wanted to make something different for my lovely daughter-in-law's birthday. I painted green acrylic paint over a 6”x6” canvas and used “Distress Ink” by Tim Holtz around the edge over the dry paint, giving the project a vintage look. Next my photographer husband duplicated an antique birthday postcard, which I mounted on foam dimensional dots and adhered to the green canvas. Satin ribbon was applied next to the opposite side if the canvas using “Zip Dry” paper glue. Using the same glue, I adhered ribbon and paper flowers to the satin ribbon. Now instead of a same old, same old card my daughter-in-law is displaying canvas art work on her counter!

A Birthday Easel Card

I am participating in Celebrate the Occasion's current easel birthday card challenge #26. I used Cricut's "Nifty Fifties" cartridge for the dress, Cuttlebug folder "Swiss Dots" for the background and two rubber stamps from Great Impressions number G416 the rose bush (cut with a Spellbinders die) and number H212 a lace frame for the bottom element. Of course I used a clear happy birthday stamp! I love how it all comes together and looks back to the 50s!

A Birthday Cowgirl!

This card made the top 3 at Cricut 360!
I love how my little cowgirl came out! I used Cricut cartridge "Paper Doll Dress-up" and decided to enter it in the Cricut 360 Challenge #7. Maybe I will see your creation over there!

Check out my card for my grandson's second birthday!

I am entering it in a challenge! I think it's so cute! The train is made from the Cricut Cartridge "Pop-Up Neighborhood!" The cupcake and candles are from the Cricut "Celebrations."
Blogger friends please play along at http://www.celebratetheoccasion.blogspot.com/ The theme for this week Challenge #24 is "Kids Birthday" The prize for this month over at CTO is a $25 PaperTrey ink gift certificate. Who wouldn't want to win?

A Gift for a Winnie the Pooh Fan

I've been working on my samples for future classes at Michaels. My granddaughter came to visit and needed a gift for my grandson, who will be 2 years old this month.
I had canvas, paint, ink and lots of cardstock. We started out doing the project as I did for Michaels and then my granddaughter cut the characters and tree with the Cricut "Pooh and Friends," cartridge. The tree was glued to the painted canvas and the characters were mounted on foam dots to give more depth to the picture. Later butterflies were cut with the Cricut "Everyday Paper Doll," Cricut cartridge and glued to the canvas.
My granddaughter did a great job, don't you think?

The card she made to go with the picture!

More New Classes to be Offered at Michaels this Fall!

The new Paper Ed Classes offered at Michaels are wonderful. I can’t wait to teach all the new things I have learned to do and show off my creations. Here is another project, I hope to offer students this fall at Michaels in Palm Coast, Florida.
These are Altered Canvases. They are 6” x 6” and look great as a trio.
These three canvases are of my own design, using my passion for anything Asian as my theme.

These canvases were decorated and embellished with cardstock, buttons, paint and distress inks, making them have an attractive vintage look.
I hope you will look into taking classes at your nearest Michaels…creating these projects is so much fun. My current schedule in Palm Coast is as follows:
